Jennifer Sandoval earned her Ph.D. in culture and communication from the University of New Mexico and her master’s degree in dispute resolution from Pepperdine University School of Law. She worked as a mediator, trainer, instructor and consultant before taking on her current position as assistant professor at the University of Central Florida in August 2011. Sandoval’s research focuses on the communication of the intersection of identity, the female body and government health policy. Currently, she is continuing to investigate these elements in the context of fertility tourism, specifically international surrogacy in India. She also works on community based-participatory research projects focusing on health in undeserved and underrepresented populations. Dr. Sandoval has been as guest lecturer at Salzburg College since 2013.
