Prof. Dr. Hanlon is a specialist in Oral Communication and Gender Issues in Communication. Her work has been published in the Florida Communication Journal and several editions of Teaching Ideas for the Basic Communication Course. Prof. Dr. Hanlon is a Past-President of the Florida Communication Association and a recipient of the UCF "Teaching in Excellence" awards in 2006 and 2011. During her time here in Salzburg Prof. Dr. Hanlon will be co-teaching the courses "The Art of Propaganda: Communication Strategies in Fascism" as well as "Intercultural Communication". She has also been invited by the Austrian American Society as a guest speaker and will be lecturing on "Social Media Connections: Beyond Friends and Tweeps". My experience in Austria has changed my life. I’ve grown so much here personally, academically, and socially thanks to so many amazing people I have had the privilege to get to know. If I ever have the chance to come back to Austria I will be back in a heartbeat.
