The event series concentrates on Artistic Interventions and Education as Critical Practice. The up-coming symposium, taking place April 4-5, 2014 at Salzburg College will discuss the ways that artistic interventions can create open and shared collaborative learning spaces for empowerment and agency in informal contexts, and in exchange and solidarity with social movements. The focus will be on critical practices at the various intersections of the arts and education exploring new settings for research and action aiming at social transformation. Artistic projects will be presented and discussed, and ideas will be developed and presented as interventions in public space.

The program is so geared toward helping students succeed, it would have been hard not to meet goals. The faculty are fantastic and my experience in a host family was very warm and one I will never forget.
