Dr. Luger holds the position of Director of the Institute for Global Development at Salzburg College. Next to his engagement at Salzburg College Dr. Luger is a Professor in Communication Studies at the University of Salzburg.
Dr. Luger completed his PhD in Communication, Economics and Philosophy at the Universities of Munich and Salzburg.
He currently also holds the following positions:
Head of Division Transcultural Communication, Department of Communication, University of Salzburg
UNESCO-Chairholder “Cultural Heritage and Tourism”
Chairman of EcoHimal-Society for Cooperation Alps-Himalaya
Chairman of Init-Institute for Interdisciplinary Tourism Research
Chairman of Research Group Media, Communication & Tourism
